Do you want to inspire women and non-binary people to start programming? The team behind Pink Programming is a happy bunch of professionals and students, divided into different projects groups in different cities. As a member of this fast growing organization you have the opportunity to make a big impact and you get access to a fantastic network of women and non-binary in IT.
We are now looking for volunteers to join our teams in Malmö, Stockholm and Göteborg! Read below what the different positions require and then apply for your city on the links below.
Please note that not all positions are available in every city.
PINK PROGRAMMING SUNDAY
Pink Programming Sunday are our coding events, organized once a month in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. At Pink Programming Sunday, women and non-binary people are welcome, no matter your age, background or previous experience in programming. The coding events have different structures, with everything from inspirational talks and workshops, to free programming with the support from our volunteers.
- Food Manager makes sure everyone gets enough lunch and fika to keep blood sugar on top! You order food and make sure that we cater to all food preferences of the participants. Feel free to try different food from event to event!
- Event Manager is in charge of setting up the event page online and welcoming all participants during the event.
- Photographer makes sure we have some sweet photos from the event, either by shooting them yourself, or making sure someone else is.
- Film Maker – do you prefer making films and would like to create short films of events we host? Then this is the role for you!
- As a Coding Mentor / Workshop arranger, you are part of the project group and help plan workshops which you hold at the actual event, and generally help out explaining programming concepts to the participants at the event.
- Social media manager is active before, during and after the event to share all the fun we do on our various social media platforms. You will also be a part of the communication group.
THE SPONSOR GROUP
Pink Programming is working with a lot of inspiring companies. We usually collaborate around our Pink Programming Sundays that we arrange together. As a member of the sponsor group, you will help us with keeping good dialogues with our old sponsors, and helping us find new ones! You will be expected to be able to take some meetings with companies during day time (1-2/month). You will also take part in internal group discussions in our chat forum, and occasionally also in video meetings. You need no experience with sponsor work since before – just passion!
You don’t have to be a fluent Swedish speaker to be able to help out with sponsors. But a lot of the companies that contact us write in Swedish, so as long as you’re comfortable with some google translating, we would be happy to have you onboard 🙂
Communication is one of the most important parts of Pink Programming. By spreading our message via our channels and platforms, we make sure women and non-binary people who are interested in programming finds us, and companies who wants to sponsor us learn more about Pink Programming. A new communication strategy is in place and we need you to help us work with it!
Is communication your thing? Do you love social media and web? As a volunteer in the communications team, there is an opportunity to work with what you love the most!
In the communications group you will mostly work with:
Our social media platforms – mostly Facebook and Instagram, but we are also on Twitter and LinkedIn. There are opportunities to work with marketing before an event, live updates during, but also to create content to spread our message in between the events.
We are also looking for creative people who want to work both with digital content and printing material. For example, create simple images in Canva or Photoshop for our social media, make illustrations we can use for example gifs, news letters and stickers, or bring some new life into our merchandise.
Do you want to make something completely different with our communication? Apply and tell us how you want to contribute!
We are also looking for a person who wants to develop and improve our website. This person will be a part of the web team together with our web editor and mainly be responsible for maintenance and development of different functions. Do you have any ideas on how we can make our website better, faster and stronger? Then this role is for you!
You don’t need any programming knowledge to be a part of the communications team and you can work remotely. Previous experience within the communications field is preferred but not required.
PINKWEBDEV (MALMÖ ONLY)
PinkWebDev is our part time course for people who want to change careers and start working as developers. The participants will learn everything they need to know in web development during 16 weeks course, so that they can start working as junior developers after. The course meetups will be hosted twice a week in Malmö. The course will be given by two teachers who have hosted similar courses earlier.
We are now looking for people who want to be code mentors during the course. As a code mentor you will be supporting the participants during the course, both at the course sessions and online inbetween. You do not have to be present at all sessions, you can choose the weeks you are available.
We are also looking for people who want to help with practical stuff. For example ordering food, setting up the venue and making sure that everyone, participants, teacher, code mentors and others, are enjoying themselves and having fun together!
This group are arranging fun team building and celebratory activities for volunteers in Pink. Some examples are summer / christmas parties, kick offs and our annual meeting! If you are into arranging social activities and creating good vibes, then this is the group for you!
