Keep your secrets secret - and learn to code with security in mind!

What is a secret? And how do you manage your secrets? What things should every developer know about security? On Pink Sunday with SEB we're focusing on security, secret management and why it's a key perspective for every developer to have in the back of their minds when coding! 

Cozy up with a cup of tea and a blanket and join us on Zoom for this super secret digital Pink Sunday with SEB! We welcome participants from all over the world and everyone's welcome!

Inspirational panel:
 It's all about security! This Pink Sunday we have the pleasure of presenting an inspirational panel from SEB. You will hear from experts working in various security roles talk about different perspectives on cyber security, their journey into the field, how it is to work in the industry as a woman today, and much much more. You don't want to miss this panel! 

Workshop: Keep your secrets secret - learn how to code with security in mind! Rikku Bölske from Pink Programming will teach us core concepts within security, common ways secrets can be compromised (and how to avoid it!). Of course we will also get to try it out for ourselves through coding.

Level: Beginner level,  but certain concepts might be a bit foreign to absolute beginners. With that said - everyone's welcome to participate as much as they can and want!

Hybrid option: We have a few seats available to join the digital event at the SEB office in Solna! - Attending at the office is now fully booked! Still open for digital participation.

Level of workshop:  The workshop is perfect for you if you're just getting started making your first page using Javascript, NodeJs and HTML. But with that said - everyone's of course welcome to participate as much as they can and want!

As we transform our services to become more digital and let machines take over human artefacts, we become more vulnerable to the damage of cyberattacks. Listen to an inspiring online panel discussion with three women from the industry to learn more about the different perspectives on cyber security, how SEB treats this issue, and what it’s like working within this area as a woman!

Milena Friend, Cyber Threat Intelligence team (she/her)

After receiving her Master's degree in Information Security, Milena Friend joined SEB’s Cyber Threat Intelligence team in May of 2022 as a part of Group Security and Cyber Defence. During the panel discussion, Milena will talk about the importance of threat intelligence as a part of cyber security and her experiences as a newcomer working within this area.

Kazjal Jaff, Deputy Domain Architect within Saving & Investment (she/her)

Kazjal Jaff describes IT as both cool, interesting and tough! She works as a Deputy Domain Architect within Saving & Investment, and has 18 years of experience in IT, specialising in the banking industry. Her background gives her a broad perspective and knowledge in solution and IT architecture, development, data, and security.

Angelique Dawnbringer, Information Security Officer (she/her)

Angelique Dawnbringer started as a young entrepreneur and today has over 25 years of experience in computer solutions. During her career, she has had multiple roles, varying from CIO/CTO and IT specialist, to her current role as Information Security Officer at SEB. In this role, she works with educating employees and detailing context for internal and external stakeholders.

Rikku Bölske - Pink Programming

Manage your secrets

What is the difference between a secret and a password? How do you become more aware of security risks when coding? And what are the most common ways for secrets to be compromised? This workshop will give you some hands on tips and tools on how to better manage your secrets when coding, and give you some insight into how to be more risk-aware. 

Preparations: Register an account on Glitch, that's where we will live code!
