About Pink Programming
Pink Programming is a non-profit association that was started in the autumn of 2015, with the aim of getting more women and non-binaries to program. The association organizes programming camps and code meetings for women of different ages and with different backgrounds. The code meetings, Pink Programming Sunday, are arranged by project groups in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö at least once a month, and are free for all participants. Programming camps are arranged a few times a year in a rural environment where programming is interspersed with social activities.
Since the summer of 2018, we have an employed business manager who coordinates the business. We have over 100 active volunteers in the association at our three locations. Over 4,000 people have coded with us since the association was founded about 3.5 years ago. We are now looking for another full-time employee who wants to take overall responsibility – partly for our Sundays around the country and partly for our communication, both internally and externally.
About the role
The role mainly comprises two overall areas of activity. You will have the ultimate responsibility for our communication work and our regular code meetings, Pink Programming Sunday. For both areas of activity, you have the organization’s volunteers to help you.
Project manager for communication
You will lead the communication group and have the ultimate responsibility for the organization’s communication. The communication work is broad and includes everything from working with communication strategies both internally and externally, to PR work and creating content for both social media and website.
Project manager for Sunday events The
role also includes a general responsibility for our code meetings Pink Programming Sunday. You will support the project groups in the different cities and ensure that there is an exchange of knowledge within and between the groups. And of course, to help and work so that everyone who gets involved in the association has fun!
The role requires great personal responsibility. It is important that you like to structure work and distribute responsibilities, and dare to make your own quick decisions and take your own initiatives. As most of the association works voluntarily, evening and weekend work is included. You will report to the association’s operations manager.
Pink Programming has only been around for a few years and the association is developing at a furious pace, which gives you an extremely great chance to influence our development and our way of working with communication both internally and externally, as well as improve our Sunday events.
The work is based on our office at the startup hub The Ground in Malmö, with access to an innovative environment and enriching meetings. Travel within Sweden will be needed a couple of times a month. A large part of the communication with the rest of the association will take place digitally via Slack or Skype.
About the employment
- Fixed-term employment for 6 months at 100% or by agreement, with a high chance of extension
- Start immediately or by appointment.
- Salary according to agreement
- Location in Malmö, but working remotely is possible. If you want to work from another place, then write something in the application about how you think it would work and how much time you have to travel.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for you who are passionate about gender equality and have a curiosity about programming, technology and IT. You do not necessarily have experience in the programming or IT industry in a previous role. We would like you to have experience in non-profit associations and preferably also from arranging events, as well as communication work with a focus on creating content in digital channels. If you have started your own project or company and run it further, we believe that you would benefit from that experience in your role. The most important thing is that you come up with your own initiatives and can solve unforeseen problems.
You need to be easy to communicate with different types of people and enjoy creating new relationships and maintaining them. You need to be comfortable in the fact that your colleagues are in different places and that they, because they work voluntarily, have different opportunities to get involved.
You need to be fluent in Swedish and English in speech and writing.
About the application
You apply for the role by filling out the form below no later than April 22 . If you are up for an interview, we will contact you at the end of April or the beginning of May.
